The last one of\nthis course. This unit focuses on futures, in a similar way that Unit 1 focuses\non histories. There is one activity this week, intended to help you with\nstarting to think about the final assignment. This of this activity as an\ninformal way to begin working on your final assignment. It's intended to be a\nsort of a stepping stone into your assignment. When you visit the unit page,\nyou'll see that there's a number of readings available. Instead of reading all\npapers for the activity, you are asked to skim them all and t<strong><em>hen pick one or\ntwo to read for this week's activity.<\/em><\/strong> This should lighten the load a little,\nbut still enable you to begin working on your final assignment by\ncompleting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malat-coursesite.royalroads.ca\/lrnt523\/schedule\/unit-3\/\"><strong>Activity 7<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong style=\"font-size:0.9375rem;\">Live\nsessions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>In\nterms of this week, we have a synchronous session booked in our calendar for\nThursday <strong>Oct 10<sup>th<\/sup> 4:00 \u2013 5:00pm pacific time<\/strong>. We will spend some time following upon the readings to date, speaking a bit about AI in relation to the final assignment and having a general discussion re: the method of speculative futures.<\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size:0.9375rem;\">Our\nnext synchronous session is scheduled for <\/span><strong style=\"font-size:0.9375rem;\">Oct 23<sup>rd<\/sup> 4 \u2013 5pm\npacific time<\/strong><span style=\"font-size:0.9375rem;\">. You will have completed\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/malat-coursesite.royalroads.ca\/lrnt523\/schedule\/unit-3\/\" style=\"background-color:rgb(255,255,255);\"><strong>Activity #7<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size:0.9375rem;\">\u00a0by then and will have spent some time thinking\nand writing the final assignment. We will use this session as an opportunity to\ncheck-in, chat about assignment #3, explore some topics related to the future\nof education and meet your LRNT 524 instructors and talk a little bit about what\nto expect in LRNT 524.
