Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!

\nWelcome to our LRNT 523 course! I am so looking forward to reconnecting with\nyou, welcoming our Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies and Graduate\nCertificate in Learning Designstudents to this course and working together over\nthe next 9 weeks. No doubt you have been exploring and meandering through\nour\u00a0course\nWordPress site<\/a>\u00a0 and my welcome video<\/a> (scroll down) \u2013 ha! but I wanted to post here\nso that you could see where the\u00a0Instructor Posts<\/a>\u00a0are\non our course site. You will also find a copy of this message and my weekly\nmessages in the\u00a0LRNT 523\nMoodle Companion Shell News forum<\/a>\u00a0and they will be emailed to your RRU\nemail.<\/p>\n\n

Getting Oriented:<\/b><\/p>\n\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your\nfirst stop as you get oriented to the course should be the\u00a0Schedule.<\/a> I am\nsure you are getting into a groove with the LRNT ecosystem (course WordPress\nsites and the companion Moodle shell) but I just thought I would give a gentle\nreminder that you will want to review the schedule and map the due dates and\nactivities against your work and personal calendars and commitments, ensuring\nthat you have created time to do the work prior to the deadline. Past students\nhave commented on the need to build in time for doing the work as well as\ncompleting an edit and revision cycle on your writing prior to submitting.<\/p>\n\n

This first week of this course invites us to get to know each\nother and then asks us to dive into Weller\u2019s writing as we orient ourselves in\nthe field. In the screen capture below of the Schedule you can see that between\ntoday and Aug 30th<\/sup> we will be doing the following:<\/p>\n\n

As with all our LRNT courses, even though our courses are in the\nWordPress environment, if you could please log into the LRNT 523 companion\nMoodle shell<\/a> by Day 3 of the course that would be much appreciated as then the\nRegistrar is able to know you are present ;)<\/p>\n\n

Have a great week getting your bearings in the course and diving\ninto Unit 1 and its activities! I am looking forward to seeing your creative\napproaches to \u00a0Activity 1<\/a> over the\nnext few days and will be checking in throughout the week. Many thanks to those of you who have already started to dive into this activity - it has been great to learn more about what makes you who you are and the gifts that you bring to this course.<\/p>\n\n

You will notice my \u201cout of office\u201d message on this week as I am on\na research retreat but please know, that is for everyone else \u2013 not you so if\nyou have a question or notice a glitch, please don\u2019t hesitate to let me know \uf04a<\/p>\n\n
