I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend. Just a few things as we move into
the second week of exploring change. This is a bit of a long one .

It has
been great to see the different perspective emerging from the first
activity. I see there are more to come, and it is great to see the
comments and discussion emerging. So far I see a themes of needing to balance
safety/privacy and taking a critical approach to technology implementation.

Activity
2 is designed to help you with your first assignment, and hopefully you
have a start on connecting with colleagues. If you haven’t had a chance
already, I would encourage you to listen to the perspectives on leadership
and change in the “Voices”
webpage (there are also transcripts). All four interviews have a question
on change and will be very relevant as you think about practical
approaches to initiating change in your own contexts.

We had
our synchronous session for this unit last week. Our next one will be next
Tuesday, February 18 at 5 pm.

Just a
reminder that as you are interviewing or corresponding with professional
colleagues outside the course for Activity 2/Assignment 1 that you need to
fill out the consent form as part of the research ethics guidelines for
the course. You do not have to provide the form to me as part of
your assignment but should keep a copy.

The assignment instructions ask you to post it to your blog, but there
is a space in Moodle for you to share your Assignment if there are
elements that you do not want to share publicly, or if the colleague you
speak to is more comfortable with you not sharing an analysis openly on
your blogs. It is a good reminder that your blogs, though not searchable, can
be viewed, so you may want to keep that in mind for all your posts where
you might be adding a critique. Just a reminder to also submit it to the dropbox in Moodle so I can assess it there. If you would like direct feedback, then a word document is the best (I can't annotate a weblink).

As you
start work on your post for Assignment 1 - make sure you take a look at
the rubric for the criteria.
