Good morning! Welcome to your program. This is a reminder that your program begins today with two modules, The Link and the Introduction to Academic Integrity (ITAI), which are designed to introduce you to online learning at RRU.
In The Link, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with assignments, news forums, and the services offered by RRU, as well as have the chance to virtually meet our faculty, our staff and each other via Collaborate Ultra sessions. ITAI is a separate (and short) module taken at the same time as The Link.
In this post, you'll find information on:
- The Link
- Introduction to Academic Integrity
- Your first Collaborate Ultra session
- The Link Schedule
- Link Café
- Collaborate recordings
The Link: In The Link, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with assignments, news forums, and the services offered by RRU, as well as the chance to virtually meet our faculty and staff via a Collaborate Ultra session. The main course shell is located in WordPress, but a few items are by necessity located in Moodle (Collaborate rooms and recordings, forums, teams, Activity 4 and 7 checklists).
Introduction to Academic Integrity: ITAI is a separate (and short) module taken at the same time as The Link. The course shell is located entirely in Moodle.
Collaborate Ultra: Your program's first Collaborate Ultra synchronous session, the Program Overview, starts today at 12pm (noon) Pacific. The Collaborate Ultra room you will use for this course is located in the Communications area of the Navigation pane in Moodle – click here to quickly access the Collaborate Ultra Room (Class). Click on "Join session". (The Guest links tab is only for people not instructing or taking the course, such as guest speakers.)
The Link Schedule: You can find your assignment due dates in The Link via the Schedule tab in WordPress.
Teams: Your team can be found on the main page of The Link Moodle shell. On the right, under Course Community, you'll see My Teams.
Link Café: If you are wanting to make arrangements on your own to get together for half an hour on, say, Friday at 6pm Pacific, you can discuss in the Student-to-Student Discussions Link Café forum and then meet virtually in the Collaborate Ultra Room (Class) - it’s like Skype.
Collaborate recordings: Please feel free to click around and orient yourselves to The Link's Moodle and WordPress pages. I look forward to "seeing" you online at 12pm (noon) Pacific. This session will be recorded. If you are unable to join us then, please review the recording as soon as you can today - it will appear at the bottom of the Communications/Collaborate Ultra Recordings (2021 Cohorts) page in Moodle, usually within a few hours.
I will send out a note like this on Mondays and Thursdays of The Link. If you have any questions, please let me know; I’m happy to help.
