Hello, All,
Hopefully, you have all gotten a start on arranging to meet around your team agreement, and can begin to think about Assignment 2. Here are a few notes, as you launch into this work:
- Your assigned theoretical frameworks are attached. I have tried to match theories to the interests I have heard you express. There are some theories on the class reading list that have not been assigned--including some that could be useful to some of you. Please take it upon your self to explore theories that are not covered but that you perceive might be useful to you.
- The Assignment directions for Part A ask you to create an "annotated bibliography including at least three entries for each theoretical framework." The class readings provide multiple articles for some theories and only 1-2 for others. In some cases, you will need to supplement the class reading list with articles you find yourself. In other cases, the list might provide enough articles, but you may choose to draw on articles you find yourself instead of those provided. Please use your judgment, while keeping in mind the goal of choosing articles that are valuable to you and those in your class.
- I have added two sentences to the assignment directions for Part B, the presentation. These are: "Spend no more than 5 minutes on each theoretical framework you present. Your classmates are your primary audience: Your presentation should enable them to assess whether they would want to further explore it in their own research."
Optional: I also posted a few thoughts/questions on AI and education in the class discussion forum: https://moodle.royalroads.ca/moodle/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=1144034 . I am struggling with this issue, and thought I would post for those who might want to share thoughts. Note that responding to this forum is optional.
