A gentle reminder that as with all LRNT courses, you are expected to incorporate APA standards for citations, formatting, and references and to back up your writing with evidence and appropriate academic literature as necessary. You are required to pay attention to grammar and clarity and to avoid colloquialisms. References are not included in the assignment word count. Also, don’t forget the numerous resources available to you as you build your competence and fluency with APA formatting and writing style. In particular, check out the RRU APA 7 formatting checklists as well as RRU WriteAnswers where you can ask your APA questions.
Overview
This component of your grade refers to the presence and quality of your participation in all course learning activities, including your blog and forum posts.
At the end of the course, you will submit a reflective self-assessment of your contribution to the learning community, which will become a part of this grade.
Rationale
Each member of this cohort’s learning community plays a vital role in supporting the learning of others through the presence and quality of their contributions to the course learning activities. This corresponds to the responsibility of each of you as contributing members in this course.
For everyone’s learning to be successful, it is imperative that you read the assigned materials, reflect on their relevance and meaning, and participate fully in all course learning activities.
Details
You are expected to contribute to the learning community through your preparedness, presence, and participation in the course.
The contribution to the learning community grade is connected to all course learning activities. Asynchronous learning activities are those you complete at your own pace, such as weekly readings, online forum discussions, etc. Synchronous learning activities refer to those that happen during our Zoom sessions, such as demonstrating active listening, asking thoughtful questions, and participation in breakout room discussions and activities, as well as your overall conduct and contribution as a team member in team activities and assignments.
Deliverables
A reflection of 250-500 words (or equivalent for audio or video submissions) that addresses the following:
- Based on the rubric, what letter grade best reflects your contribution to this learning community?
- Explain your self-assessment with supporting examples from throughout the course (forums, blogs, synchronous sessions, other activities)
- Reflecting on this experience and looking ahead, what are you taking with you (either to your next course in this program or into your context?): what will you start, stop, or keep doing to contribute to the learning communities you are a part of?
Submission
Please submit your reflection to this Moodle Assignment dropbox by 11:55pm on the last Sunday of the course.
Grading
Your final grade will be based on your instructor’s review and moderation of your self-assessment.
