The Debate Continues – Rebuttal Threads Open

by Russ Wilde.

Good Evening Everyone -

Thanks so much for your work on our debate activity this week. The initial arguments have been great fun to read - wonderful perspectives from both teams. The rebuttal debate threads are now open in our Moodle forum for these two teams to post their responses on Thu, May 14.

May 15 and 16 (Fri and Sat) are designated for the scrum portion of the debate, where all members of the Pro and Con teams have a chance to weigh in with additional thoughts that might have been missed or have come to mind while completing the course readings. I will create a thread for this part of the activity tomorrow, once both rebuttals are posted.

On May 17, I will open the Judgement thread so that our Judgement team can post their critical and reflective assessment of the debate arguments (including reference to the rubric) by end of Mon, May 18.

Also note that the individual Assignment 2 - Peer and Self-Assessment is due by end of May 18. Please review the instructions on the Assignment 2 page, but also feel free to contact me should anything be unclear - I am always happy to connect and clarify.

Finally, I had a great time reading everyone's blog posts over the past week and I hope you found my feedback helpful. Be sure to keep up with new posts and comments for your personal blogs for the remainder of the course.

Enjoy the rest of the debate and please let me know should any questions or challenges arise. I will send out a note on Mon, May 18 introducing Unit 4 and setting us up for our Zoom session scheduled for Tue, May 19.

Best,

Russ
