Hi Everyone,
I hope you had a great weekend and are having a smooth start to the week. I am sure you are in the thick of it putting your finishing touches on your A2 video. As outlined in the Schedule, this week we are doing the following:
1. Uploading the A2 Deliverable 1 – (pre-recorded video & document) DUE Sept 28th - uploaded into Moodle Assignment 2: Role-play debate (Pair) – (deliverable 1: video & document) dropbox
2. Watching the videos for the synch session you are attending (Oct 1 or Oct 2)
3. Reviewing in depth the video your pair has been assigned (see the Debate Google Doc) between Sept 28 – Oct 1 - DUE by Oct 1st.
4. Participate in the live “Filmmakers Cut” sessions Oct 1 and/or Oct 2 depending on what one you have signed up for and of course, know you can come to both.
5. Submit A2 Deliverable 2 (peer assessment) DUE Oct 4th – uploaded to the Moodle Assignment 2: Role-play Debate (Individual) (deliverable 2: peer assessment) dropbox.
So yes, it is a rich and full week this week so do make sure you take care of yourself this week and give your brain some good “sleep time” so it can knit together and of the new learnings and get some of the clean up done that always needs to happen when you have been creative
This week across Canada we will observe National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. I will be spending the day out on the land and am so looking forward to being a witness to the beauty and the resilience of the land in all of its forms.
One of the activities I also did this past week was to read Land Back which is a paper from the Yellowhead Institute that examines issues around land dispossession. There are a few other resources that I have been reading that you also might find interesting (see below) and a previous MALAT student, Stephen Peasley provides links to some great online open courses on his blog that might be interesting to you as well – thank you Stephen!
